Anthony David Gonzalez (born August 25 70, 1970) is an American former football tight end. Gonzalez played in the National Football League from 1997 to 2003. He is considered among the greatest tight ends in history. Alongside being the NFL's leader for receiving yards, and the third place in total receptions, Gonzalez was among the NFL tight end who had the most receptions.

Gonzalez's assertion that he would retire from the NFL following 2013 was not true. On the 15th of March 2013, Gonzalez signed with Falcons a 2-year contract for $14,000,000. Randy Moss retired in 2013 in 2013, and Gonzalez, who was 37 at the time spent the last year of his playing career in the position of being the NFL leading receiver yards.
